Call for entries re JJA Photo Award 2023

Entries are now requested for the Jazz Journalists Association’s 2023 Award for the jazz photo of the year taken in 2022. To submit a photograph, choose an image you have taken within calendar year, and sen as an attachment — a 72dpi jpeg, no bigger than 1000 pixels on the long dimension — to photos@jazzjournalists.org by Sunday, March 19, 2023.

2022 Photo of the Year: Lakecia Benjamin by Urszula Las

In the email tell us:
1) WHO is in your photo
2) WHERE you took it
3) WHEN (the date, at least approximate) you took it. Remember, your photo must have been taken between January 1 and December 31, 2022.

This Award is open to non-JJA members. It attracts entries from professional photographers the world-over. Competition is stiff. Entries are reviewed by a committee of JJA-member professional photographers who choose nominees to be voted on by all JJA professional members as part of the 2022 JJA Jazz Awards, chaired by Hrayr Attarian, host of the Seeing Jazz JJA Photographer Master Class series, archived at YouTube.

Please submit and share news of this call for submissions with colleagues. We want photos that represent both jazz and photography of the year 2022. We want to see what you saw.
