2022 JJA Jazz Awards winners announced!

Winners of Jazz Awards in 47 categories of excellence — in Jazz Performance and Recordings and Jazz Journalism — have been announced. Sheila Jordan, “jazz child” on perpetual tour at age 93, is celebrated for her Lifetime Achievement in Jazz, and Greg Tate, who died December 7 2021 at age 63, is honored posthumously for his Lifetime Achievement in Jazz Journalism.

Jon Batiste is named Jazz Musician of the Year — Sounds from the Ancestors by Kenny Garrett is Record of the Year, and Ted Gioia won two journalism Awards.
