Here’s a grant opportunity (biannual prize) that may be of interest to jazz photographers — from New York Foundation for the Arts “Headlines and Deadlines‘ column:
Deadline, September 8 — The Center for Documentary Studies / Honickman First Book Prize in Photography is a biannual prize awarded to an American documentary photographer whose work has not yet been published in a full-length book. Applicants must submit a CD of 40 images from an ongoing or recently completed project that represent a coherent body of work suitable for publication. A $3,000 grant will be awarded to the winner, who will have his or her work published in a book sold through mainstream distribution channels. Click here for full submission guidelines.
What a great opportunity for unpublihed photographers!
But what about "life's work" project photographes? My project began in 1972, and is ongoing.
