Nominees for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards are in, and the jazz category features such names as Vijay Iyer, Darcy James Argue, Dave Holland, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Hank Jones, Danilo Perez and more.
And in the Best New Artist category – that’s Best New Artist, period, not Best New Jazz Artist – we have jazz bassist/vocalist Esperanza Spalding going head-to-head with Justin Bieber, Drake, Florence & The Machine, and Mumford and Sons.
