Jazz journalists breakfast, schmooze in Monterrey

About 20 jazz journalists and friends gathered for breakfast on Sunday, September 18th, the last day of the 54th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival. This annual gathering, organized by Bay Area photographer Stuart Brinin and writer Bill Minor (both lapsed JJA members), was a chance to socialize and to compare notes on the festival performances.

New York, NY — Jazz journalists Nat Hentoff and Will Friedwald, Down Beat associate editor Aaron Cohen and biographer/collaborator David Ritz are among the winners of the 43rd Annual ASCAP Deems Taylor Awards for print, broadcast and new media coverage of music, as announced on September 28, 2011.
