NEA Jazz Masters program to end: sound off at our JJA member forum

The National Endowment for the Arts has announced plans to end its 30-year-old Jazz Masters program. See blog posts by JJA President Howard Mandel here and here.

Will this negatively affect jazz or individual jazz communities in the U.S. or elsewhere? As detailed in an email to the JJA membership from Howard earlier this week, our organization can play a role in investigating and reporting on the possible ramifications of the NEA decision.

Please participate in the discussion on this subject in the JJA Members Forum. You’ll need to log in to your member account.

  1. Jazz survives despite the ravages that constantly get heaped upon it. Thank goodness. But, by contrast, it uses the limited sums at its disposal so effectively. Something not realised by the arts establishment not just here in UK, unfortunately.
