Jazz Journalists Association members dove into the New Year with new projects — listening
and responding to music happening now (well-aware and considering always what’s come before) — via reviews, interviews, podcasts, photo features, radio tributes, documentary films, liner notes, webinars, new books, birthday celebrations, and in my case becoming interim editor-in-chief of JazzTimes.
Hearty welcome! to new members: Brooklyn-based photographer Eva Kapanadze of Eva’s Design and Photography, working with record labels and publications including Jazziz; David Allee of The Jazz Kitchen, Indianapolis, a presenter celebrated as a JJA Jazz Hero in 2019; Jan Mancuso of KBOO Radio (Portland OR), Reference Recordings and Trade Secrets Consulting, and Elizabeth “Wiz” Petta, who’s been audio editing The Buzz: The JJA Podcast as a sideline to her studies in Schnectady, NY.
