Jazz really is everywhere, as demonstrated by the 186 would-be jazz videographers from around the U.S. — and the world — who applied to the eyeJAZZ Training Program. Applicants range widely in age, experience, musical interests, background and, especially, location.
This map shows the distribution of applicants (zoom in to view down to local level.) While there are concentrations of applicants from up and down the northeast corridor of the U.S., California and Illinois, there are also applicants from Florida, Georgia, Texas, Nevada and Hawaii, as well as Mexico and Canada, South Africa, India, Cyprus, Israel and Japan.
Selected applicants will be announced March 1. They will work through July on eyeJAZZ.tv projects, with the guidance of Bret “the Jazz Video Guy” Primack, independent filmmaker/videographer Floyd Webb, social media consultant JoAnn Kawell and Howard Mandel, president of the JJA.
