Susan Brink, Jazz Music Director of the Hudson Mohawk Radio Network, former development director of the
Jazz Journalists Association and associate producer of the Jazz Heroes and Jazz Awards initiatives (among other work with the organization), has joined the JJA’s board of directors.
A music supporter, activist and non-profit professional based in New York’s Capital Region, Susan has helped organize JJA events and supportive memberships in the Albany area since 2012, and has presented JJA Jazz Awards to honorees at events in Saratoga, Kingston, and elsewhere. She has a long association with the Sanctuary for Independent Media, based in Troy, NY, and broadcasts on WOOC FM, 105.3.
Debbie Burke has withdrawn from the board to focus on work and family, and remains a member in good standing, thanked for her considerations during her term.
The board’s continuing directors are Bob Blumenthal, Andy Gilbert, Janis Lane-Ewart, Robin Lloyd, Carolyn McClair, Neil Tesser and Don Palmer. JJA President Howard Mandel officiates at board meetings. The board functions to consult on and approve organizational decisions, including direction, programs and finances. The JJA is a 501 c 3 non-profit professional organization operating under provisional bylaws, adopted in 2005.
