eyeJAZZ: JJA video project update

The Jazz Journalist Association’s jazz video project, now named eyeJAZZ,  has enlisted “JazzVideoGuy” Bret Primack and  noted Chicago videographer Floyd Webb as trainers and project  organizers. CareFusion ends jazz fest sponsorships

CareFusion, a global firm selling equipment and services to hospitals, announced the end of its two-year jazz-marketing campaign today, pulling sponsorship from George Wein’s Newport Jazz festival and New York Jazz Festival, and the Chicago Jazz Festival, which is produced by the City of Chicago’s Mayor’s Office of Special Events.

JJA awarded Jazz.NEXT grant for guerrilla video project

The Jazz Journalists Association has been awarded a Jazz.NEXT grant from the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, through the generous support of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, for support of hands-on training and implementation of  basic video skills including equipping successful program applicants with a pocket video camera and exploring new means of video distribution.
