Name Change: AAJ-NY to become The New York City Jazz Record
All About Jazz-New York, billed as “the city’s only homegrown jazz gazette,” will be changing its name to The New York City Jazz Record. The change becomes effective with the publication’s March 2011 issue, according to a press release issued by Managing Editor Laurence Donohue-Greene and Production Manager Andrey Henkin.
All About Jazz-New York, a free monthly paper, was initially launched in 2002 in conjunction with AllAboutJazz.com. However, during the course of 2010 the two entities formally parted ways. Now, Donohue-Greene and Henkin of The New York City Jazz Record explain in their written statement:
“…[W]e are dedicated to maintaining our award-nominated feature coverage, timely CD reviews and unmatched Event Calendar sections. The gazette will continue to be found throughout New York City at the same near-200 locations (jazz clubs, record stores, schools and universities, etc.) and online at our new website which will be up and running by our March issue streetdate of Feb. 26th. Please bookmark us at: nycjazzrecord.com.[…]
“One of the advantages of this change is that our website presence will expand. We are excited soon to offer possibilities for expanded online coverage, as well as advertising opportunities. For inquiries, feel free to contact us at our new email addresses: firstname.lastname@example.org (Laurence Donohue-Greene, Managing Editor), and email@example.com (Andrey Henkin, Production Mgr.)”
